Who's Your Daddy?

On Thursday we started a new Bible study called Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed, with Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur. I am excited!
On the video we watched Priscilla Shirer had some super empowering words I wanted to find for myself and I thought I should share. So after some googling, here they are. :)

He Is…..

The First and the Last

The Beginning and the end

The Keeper of creation

The Creator of all

He’s the Architect of the universe

And the Manager of all time

He always was, always is and always will be.

Unmoved, unchanged, undefeated and never undone

He was bruised but brought healing,

He was pierced but eased pain,

He was persecuted but brought freedom

He was dead and brings life

He is risen to bring power

and He reigns to bring peace

The world can’t understand Him

Armies can’t defeat Him

Schools can’t explain Him

And leaders they can’t ignore Him

Herod couldn’t kill Him

Nero couldn’t crush Him

The new age can not replace Him

And Oprah can not explain Him away

You remind yourself that

He IS Life,

HE IS Love,

HE IS Longevity and He IS The LORD

HE IS Goodness, kindness, faithfulness

And HE IS GOD

HE IS holy and righteous

and powerful and pure

His ways are right,

His word eternal

His will unchanging

And His mind is on us

He is our savior, our guide,

our peace, our joy, our comfort

our Lord and He rules our lives,

I serve Him because His bond is love

His yoke is easy His burden is light

And His goal for us is abundant life.

I follow Him because,

He Is the wisdom of the wise

The Power of the powerful

The Ancient of days, the Ruler of rulers,

The Leader of all leaders,

His goal is a relationship with me

He will never leave you, never forsake you

never mislead you, never forget you,

never overlook you and

never cancel your appointment is His appointment book...never!

When you fall He’ll lift you up,

When you fail He will forgive you.

When your weak He’s strong,

When your lost He’s your way

When your afraid He is your courage,

When you stumble He will steady you,

When your hurt He Is going to heal you,

When your broken He will mend you,

When your blind He will lead you,

When your hungry He will feed you,

When you face trials He Is with you,

When I face persecution He shields me,

When I face problems He will comfort me,

When I face loss He will provide for me,

And when we face death

He will carry us all home to meet Him.

He is everything for everybody,

everywhere ,every time,

And in every way.

He is your God

and that sisters is who you belong to!

Hope you're feeling encouraged and empowered!

29

My b*day is this week. The big 2-9!
The last year of my 20's, my younger and much more hip cousin has so sweetly reminded me. I haven't felt hip in forever...like at least 2 kids ago...but that's another story...

Hubby let me do a little a shopping today. Yeah!

I was so excited to see my new fave perfume was finally out. I've been using a little rollerball sample forever now.
I love it!

As I made my way over to check it out, a couple of girls were in front of me.
They too noticed there was a Juicy scent. One of them asked the other how it smelled and do you know what she said?

"Not good! It smells old...like an adult."

Uh, did she say the perfume I'd been anxiously waiting for smelled old?
She did...

And I bought it anyway because I love it.

So I guess I'm an old adult now...or I smell like one anyway. :)

p.s. Thanks everyone for the sweet comments on my last post. They mean more than I can say. Thank you!

I am ready

It's been 9 months now. 9 long miserable months without my mom.
9 months of denial,
assuring everyone I'm fine...even when I'm not.
9 months and I still feel like it's Day 1.

Last week God spoke to me. He told me I am ready. It's time.
No more denial, no more just being okay, no more living in survival mode.

I was so excited!

The thing is, it's still a process. It doesn't magically happen. If I'm not careful I will stay right where I have been for the past 9 months in getting-by-ville.
I don't want to just get by. I want to be happy! The real deal Jesus flowing out of me happy. You know those people who just ooze peace and joy? I want that to be me... No matter what's going on in my life...

So I am going to press in and trust God.

Victory always begins with a cry for help.
When we come to the end of ourselves and cry out for help,
amazing things happen.
-Beth Moore

My Beth Moore devotional has blessed me so much and in so many ways. I know I've said it before but I highly suggest it! And thanks Lissa for sharing your journal. I've been lax in my journal keeping but I knew I needed one for this journey. It's already become so essential for me. When I am discouraged I remind myself, God told me I'm ready, so that means I must be ready. :)

I am excited and nervous for what the future holds!

Looking to start a trend?

I've spent today trying to get over a cold. So not the start to the school year I'd hoped. I thought I may have over done the dayquil when I saw these. Are they only strange to me?

Hoping to be a lot better soon. :)

Fall favorites

Pumpkin spice lattes are my all time favorite! I just got an email that they're available again. Yeah for Fall!

I can see from everyones blogs I'm not the only one excited for boot weather. I am excited to wear these babies out. I have short legs so I'm trying out shorter boots this year so I can imagine I have long legs. My sister is 11 and has legs as long as mine. I don't know why the tall gene skipped over me. So unfair!

And ugg boots. I'm not sure about these but they were on sale and I haven't had a new pair of talls in 6 years. So I ordered them. We'll see about them when they get here. Is it weird I'm excited to wear uggs? My toes are even excited.

And yummy comfy sweaters. Lots of slimming layers. Maybe now I can stop agonizing about the 8lbs. I've managed to put on these last couple months. Now I'm even farther away from my goal... and Thanksgiving will be here before I know it... Oh great now I'm hungry. ;)

Happy September!

Stressed

I am stressed out. We are going to be shelling out lots of $$$ to the dentist in the next few months. Please don't tell me what a bad mom I am. I feel guilty enough on my own. Goodbye birthday trip to SF... Goodbye new purse I don't even know I need yet... Goodbye other stuff I can't think of... Hello happy teeth. :D

And can you say a little prayer for us? My dad's work schedule is such that my little sister only sees him twice a week. Some family friends have been helping him out during the summer, but I've really been feeling that she should be with family. So I've been talking to my hubby about having her stay with us during the week. It would definitely add a new dynamic (if that's the right word) to our family. It would be a big change to add an 11 year old into the mix. Did you know I already have 4 kids? ;) I just feel like it's what my mom would have wanted. So we're praying about it.

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. NIV

Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. MSG

I so want to live carefree... It's got to be possible right?
